HeyGen's and Story.com's terms read differently on four of the six upload clauses: rights warranties, licences, infringement handling and deletion. As of 2026-09-25.

1Where the terms differ

HeyGen's terms cover rights warranties, where Story.com's terms read are silent. Story.com's terms cover deletion, where HeyGen's terms read are silent. On licences, HeyGen reads “broad, including improvement” and Story.com reads “perpetual and transferable”. On training use the two agree: may be used for training. On infringement handling, HeyGen reads “infringing uploads prohibited” and Story.com reads “a notice-and-takedown route”. Neither set of terms states visibility.

For a text still under option or unpublished, the training and licence rows carry the most weight.
