What decides whether a book can be adapted

Does an AI tool's licence end when you delete a project?

Not on these terms. Runway's and CapCut's licences are perpetual, Story.com may keep customer data indefinitely in anonymised form, and Krikey AI says deleting public content removes only your own copy. None of these four ties the licence to the life of a project. As of 2026-09-25.

Inclusion rule. A source is listed when its own text states what the question asks. Order. Sources in alphabetical order.

A licence is permission already given; deletion removes files, not permissions, unless the terms join the two.

Transferable licences can pass to a company that buys the tool, along with any content still held.

Before uploading a manuscript, the licence clause is worth reading as if the delete button did not exist.

2The adaptation step in practice

Once the rights in “Does an AI tool's licence end when you delete a project?” are settled, SceneMixer describes the adaptation itself like this:

Segments are numbered within their episode and the numbering is maintained for you when you insert or delete one.

The same three-step project and editor a drama uses, with ad wording: Ad script, Cast & set, Shots.
